Flying Needle Notes

Hello Friends of Flying Needle, and Folk whom I hope will become Friends of Flying Needle!

Thanks for joining me here. I am grateful you have taken a moment out of your full (and most likely busy) life to read these words.

Flying Needle's mission is to bring good medicine to the people, and by doing this, reduce suffering and, foster calm and embodiment. For the first 5 years I was in practice, that happened exclusively through one-on-one sessions. In the past two years, in an effort to bring good medicine to more of the people (y'all in case there is any question) I have added community acupuncture and classes to the mix.

Recently, it has come to my attention that I am missing a huge opportunity to be of service. I think of myself first and foremost as a teacher, and I realized that I was not availing myself of an incredible, essentially free, educational forum – the blog.

The main areas we will be investigating are Chinese medicine, movement and meditation. I will also share some poetry from time to time. Because who doesn't need more poetry in their life?

Stay tuned for the first post in the Chinese Medicine 101 series. We are going to start at the very beginning – as in the beginning of the universe! In this series we will examine how the ancient Chinese view of the cosmos is both the theoretical and clinical foundation of Chinese medicine and how that understanding helps us to better understand the world and our place within it.
